Do you see it? Sometimes I photograph nature and find the most intriguing things revealed. One of the most rewarding aspects of photographing any subject is what you’re able to see after the shot. There are times when I go out with something in mind and select one or two lenses to keep my bag less cumbersome and lite. Of course this is when I think to myself that I should have brought something else. This time I was lucky and brought my trusty Canon 70-200mm f/2.8 lens with me and was able to capture this very intriguing image. This shot was taken in portrait style and because it is a landscape I was able to see it from a different perspective. If you turn the image counter clockwise you can see that the bottom part is a reflection of the rocks and other sediment on the ground. As it is shown here you are also able to see what I can only describe as a skeleton head with perfectly cut out eye sockets, nose, and possibly a mouth and certainly what looks like a beard. At the top of the skeleton head you can also make out what looks like some type of helmet piece that sticks up from the round top part of the head.

This is not the first time I’e captured intriguing images and it probably won’t be the last but it is always fun. It almost makes one think about the ruins found under rocks and soil in certain parts of the world and see them as ancient artifacts that have been sitting between layers of rocks and sediment for centuries. I’m not a conspiracy theorist but one cannot deny the similarities, at least I can’t!
